The New Illinois Radon Awareness Act Effective January 1, 2008
Due to the unique considerations of real estate transactions involving multiple parties, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has enacted special protocols for radon testing involving real estate transactions. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA-Division of Nuclear Safety) has adapted these protocols to conform with national radon regulations.
